Union ministers Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Hardeep Puri Singh have left for Pakistan to be part of the event.

The event has garnered a lot of attention owing to Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh's refusal to visit Pakistan for the event, and his minister Navjot Singh Sidhu's going there on a personal visit.  Sidhu also courted controversy for mentioning Rafale deal in the neighbouring country.
