MDMK chief Vaiko, who is one of the prominent political face from the state had told that they will make DMK chief MK Stalin as chief minister of Tamil Nadu a few days back, after the demise of former DMK chief Kalainyar Karunanidhi.

As there is less than 6 months for the Lok Sabha polls, political parties across the countries including regional parties are prepping up to face the polls and busy to form the alliance.

Many leaders like TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, left leaders such as Sitaram Yechury and Prakash Karat met the new DMK chief MK Stalin to discuss on alliance and DMK is seen as the natural alliance of Congress based on the early happenings, They faced elections both Lok Sabha & assembly elections together many times in last two decades. We can also predict based on the statement of the leaders that the left parties will more or less be with the same alliance.

As the Congress, DMK & left alliance is almost finalised now, which all regional parties are going to join the alliance is the next big question.MDMK which was with people's welfare alliance during 2016 assembly polls who backed Vijayakanth is now supporting the new DMK chief MK Stalin & told that he'll not rest until he makes Stalin as chief minister.

But there seems to be a rift & confusion within this friendly parties now as MDMK chief Vaiko through the media questioned MK Stalin that he should clarify whether MDMK is part of the alliance or not, Emotional Vaiko told reporters that the reporters should question MK Stalin whether MDMK is in the alliance or not, He also told that self-dignity is important & also the party's welfare is also important on the other side. However, there is no response from MK Stalin on this matter yet.

VCK party leader Thol Thirumavalavan had also told that they are the friendly party of DMK and the alliance is not yet been finalised. Former MP Thirumavalavan had in fact told that he will contest from Chidambaram constituency which is his base even before the alliance is been finalised which had created more confusion as how can he decide his constituency even before the alliance is finalised.

DMK being the dominant party in the alliance have not clarified its stand on having these parties into the alliance. Sources with DMK say us that many senior leaders feel that they can face polls without these regional parties So that they can get more number of seats and which will also stop antagonising of votes.

Some DMK leaders say that they'll need to compromise atleast 4-5 seats to these parties which will go into vein and say that they can score more seats if they just contest the polls with Congress. They also feel that having the alliance with these parties will perhaps antagonise atleast 3% of votes which will be the loss to DMK because of caste-based factors.

Political analyst Sumanth C Raman feels that the alliance will not make much difference and DMK can stand alone with Congress & can win the maximum number of seats since there is huge anti-incumbency against the present AIADMK government.

However, there is no official confirmation from the DMK on these parties, But the VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan met MK Stalin today to symbolically reiterate that they are with DMK, But none knows what's the idea of DMK, Just after the Vaiko's press conference yesterday seeking clarity from MK Stalin. The DMK released a statement that DMK will fully support MDMK's protest which is happening on 3rd December against the Tamil Nadu Governor for delaying to take a decision on releasing the 7 Rajiv Gandhi assassination convicts.

Is it the election strategy not to disclose the alliance now or is DMK really keeping away parties to get more number of seats as they didn't perform well in the recent elections or it's the strategy of MK Stalin to wait & watch to reduce the tickets during the seat negotiations. We have to wait until the matter comes to the negotiation table.
