Shah slams Congress

Amit Shah, while slamming the Congress said, “Congress says what is the need for this drama of Shastra Puja. You tell me, should Shastra Puja be done on the day of Vijayadashmi to defeat evil, or not? Is it not in our Indian culture? But Congress sees drama in it. It’s not their fault. They care and value Italian culture more than the Indian culture.”

His comment came after various Congress leaders including Mallikarjun Kharge, took a dig at the Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for performing the ‘puja’. Kharge, while speaking about the ceremony that Singh performed, called the whole Rafale ceremony a “tamasha (drama)” and also compared it to how his own party never did such a thing when buying weapons. He said, “There is no need to do such ‘tamasha’. When we bought weapons — like the Bofors gun — no one went and brought them while showing off.”

Additionally, Congress leader Alka Lamba also took to Twitter to mock the 'Shastra Puja'. She said, "Think now, France made Rafale has not even reached India and the first major success is achieved by squashing two green lemons and saved India from the eyes of the evil."

During the gathering, the Home Minister also said that the Congress party was thinking about the good of just one family and not the entire nation. He also brought up that the Sonia Gandhi led party has been retaliating and discouraging Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision of abrogation of Article 370.
