Congress has been toeing the Pakistan line on the integration of Kashmir and its leaders have made statements to that effect. After Rahul Gandhi, P Chidambaram, now, Digvijaya Singh has taken the mantle to peddle lies about Jammu and Kashmir and fearmongered by backing fake news perpetuated by usual suspects. The statement, in an attempt to communalise the event of revocation of Article 370, comes a day before the festival of Eid.

"Go to BBC.com and see what is happening there. What I had told is becoming true. They have scorched their hands in the fire, saving Kashmir is our priority. I request the honorable Modi ji to Amit Shah ji and Ajit Doval to do whatever they want to do, otherwise Kashmir will get out of hand," said the senior Congress leader, despite Jammu and Kashmir police giving a statement contrary to this," he said on Sunday.  He happened to reiterate the remarkyet again on Monday.

Chidambaram communalises revocation of Article 370

Former union minister and Congress leader P Chidambaram on Sunday lambasted the BJP for the abrogation of Article 370, saying the saffron party would not have "snatched away" the special status had Jammu and Kashmir been a Hindu-dominated state. Alleging that BJP revoked the Article with its "muscle power",  he said the situation in Jammu and Kashmir was unstable and that international news agencies were covering the unrest, but not Indian media houses.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday night said the situation in the state was peaceful and no untoward incident has been reported in last one week. "There has been no untoward incident barring minor stone-pelting which was dealt with on the spot and was nipped in the bud," Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh. The government also issued a statement, saying the DGP and Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam have requested people not to believe fabricated and motivated news regarding incidents of firing in the Valley.
