Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi is being slammed on the internet by her political rivals and the public for sharing an image depicting falsehood.
Atishi on her Instagram page posted a photo comparing the Statue of Unity in Ahmedabad and the Okhla Sewage Treatment plant. The graphic that she shared has a title 'Vision & Priority Matters' with the statue of India's freedom fighter Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on the right juxtaposed with what the graphic claiming to be the Okhla sewage treatment plant. Only, the plant has not yet been constructed yet and will be built by 2022.
See the graphic shared by Malena below:
The image shown on the graphic is actually a representational image used by BASF to show 'end of pipe technology'. But Marlena did not mention that the image is a representational one. Netizens have claimed that the image is of California water treatment plant but those claims are yet to be verified.
What the graphic also failed to mention was that 85% of the funding for the plant is from the Centre, it is not just AAP or the Delhi govenment's vision being fulfilled. The graphic also incorrectly mentions the cost of the Statue of Unity. The statue costs Rs 2990 crores and not Rs 3500 crores.
By sharing the graphic, she has misled her followers and whoever accesses the post. She is getting brickbats from her political opponents who have labelled her a 'fraud'.
