BIG: Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil and 12 other leaders take oath into the expanded Maharashtra Cabinet, six ministers dropped

In a major setback to Maharashtra Congress, two weeks of after quitting the Congress party, Radhakrishna Vikhe along with 12 other leaders, on Sunday, took oath as ministers into the expanded Maharashtra Cabinet in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and other ministers, as per sources

In a major setback to Maharashtra Congress, two weeks of after quitting the Congress party, Radhakrishna Vikhe along with 12 other leaders, on Sunday, took oath as ministers into the expanded Maharashtra Cabinet in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and other ministers, as per sources.

Here is the entire list of ministers who have taken oath into the Maharashtra Cabinet:

BJP:

  • Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil (Has not formally joined BJP yet)
  • Ashish Shelar
  • Suresh Khade
  • Sanjay Bala Bhegade
  • Sanjay Kute
  • Yogesh Sagar
  • Atul Save
  • Ashok Uike
  • Parinay Fuke
  • Anil Bonde

Shiv Sena:

  • Jayadutt Kshirsagar
  • Tanaji Sawant

RPI:

BIG: Congress Appoints Balasaheb Thorat As Leader Of Opposition In Maharashtra Assembly, After Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil's Resignation

Apart from the above-mentioned cabinet ministers, sources further report that six ministers were dropped from the current cabinet: Vishnu Savra, Rajkumar Badole, Raj Atram, Dilip Kamble, Pravin Pote and Prakash Mehta.

Earlier on Friday, Shiv Sena reportedly rejected the post of Deputy Chief Minister to avoid infighting in the party. As per sources, instead of Deputy CM post, Shivsena was offered 2-3 cabinet posts in the Sunday's cabinet expansion. The party is reportedly now eying on the Chief Minister's post for Uddhav's son Aaditya Thackeray if the BJP-Sena alliance wins the state elections.

On Friday, the Congress party finally appointed Balasaheb Thorat as the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader of Maharashtra assembly. In a letter addressed to Congress General Secretary (Maharashtra) Mallikarjuna Kharge, the All India Congress Committee General Secretary K.C. Venugopal has approved the list of members appointed to the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly and Council, after mega-exodus of Maharashtra Congress MLAs due to the Lok Sabha defeat in the state.

Previously on June 4, Patil, had officially resigned as Congress MLA from Maharashtra's Shirdi constituency. He had submitted his resignation to Speaker of the Vidhan Sabha. Along with him, other Congress leaders namely Abdul Sattar, Kalidas Kolambkar and Jaykumar Gore have also resigned from their posts as MLAs, according to sources. While he has been approched by the saffron party, Patil is yet to join BJP.

The entire Vikhe Patil- Pawar family tussle started when Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil wanted a ticket for his son Sujoy from the Ahmednagar seat and was denied. Subsequently, Sujay joined BJP and won the seat against NCP's Sangram Arunkaka Jagtap.

In the Lok Sabha 2019 polls, the BJP and Shiv Sena alliance in the state won 23 and 18 seats respectively bringing their tally to 41 in the state's 48 seats. While NCP won 4 seats, Congress was reduced to 1 seat won by Suresh alias Balu Dhanorkar from Chandrapur, where Union minister Hansraj Ahir lost.
