The Madhya Pradesh unit of the BJP held a protest in the state on Wednesday, September 11. They held a 'Ghantanad' protest across the state which involves the ringing of bells to exclaim grievances. The BJP held a statewide protest against the Government which is led by Kamal Nath. Rakesh Singh, the President of the BJP in Madhya Pradesh was arrested along with several party workers in a gruesome physical battle.
The BJP protesters in Bhopal were subjected to rough handling by the police. As a consequence, some of the party members were injured in the process. Rakesh Singh spoke of the grievances of the general public. He stated that the MP government is inefficient in meeting the demands of the common people. Furthermore, Singh added that the farmer's loans were not waived, the youth of MP was still unemployed without an allowance. To top it off, the electricity rates continue to be unreasonable. Rakesh Singh spoke of the MP roads and how the Government has not made any efforts to fix the problem. Singh also added that corruption was at its peak in the state of Madhya Pradesh further criticising the law and order of the state. Former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also joined the protest at Vidisha. Gopal Bhargava, the leader of the opposition in MP, joined the protest in Jabalpur.
CM Kamal Nath recently came under fire by the Akali Dal. The Akali Dal had earlier criticised the Congress Party for appointing Kamal Nath as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh citing allegations made against him over his alleged role in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. Sukhbir Singh Badal in a series of tweets attacked Kamal Nath calling him a culprit of genocide. Sukhbir Singh Badal also stated that the SIT is going to reopen the investigation and justice should be served.
