Slamming Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's usage of private hospitals over Mohalla clinics, BJP Delhi chief Manoj Tiwari and Akali Dal leader Manjinder Sirsa have asked why has Kejriwal betrayed Delhi. Tiwari added that if the Mohalla clinics were not fit to treat the CM's family members, then why did he open them in the first place. Meanwhile, Sirsa has slammed Kejriwal's opting out of Centre's Ayushman Bharat, adding that Mohalla clinics have failed.
"We know that the CM and the deputy CM have spent over 12 lakh each in private hospitals. Is your Mohalla clinic not fit to treat your family as well? Have you opened these Mohalla clinics to kill Delhi citizens?," said the BJP Delhi chief.
Sirsa said, "This is a sensational revelation. Arvind Kejriwal who claimed that Mohalla clinics were Delhi's best health care, has himself been using private hospitals. He and his ministers have spent up to Rs. 50 lakhs in private hospitals outside Delhi. What kind of diseases is Kejriwal suffering from? You said that many people came to Delhi to undergo treatment and did not opt into PM's Ayushman Bharat scheme. It is very shameful and he has betrayed Delhi's citizens."
On the other hand, Arvind Kejriwal has dismissed the reports as 'bad politics'. He said, "It is a dirty politics by them (Opposition)," while addressing a press conference in Delhi. He was asked by a reporter regarding the RTI filed by Amit Kumar revealing AAP ministers using private hospitals.
In a shocking development related to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)'s Mohalla clinics, Republic TV on Tuesday had discovered that the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his ministers do not use the Mohalla clinics themselves. Sources reported that a recent RTI has revealed that the AAP chief himself used private hospitals for treatment. The RTI had also revealed that even top AAP ministers like Manish Sisodia too prefer private hospitals over the 200 odd Mohalla clinics in Delhi.
According to the RTI filed by Amit Kumar, Kejriwal and his family have spent upto Rs. 12,18,027 in treatment on private hospitals from March 2015 - September 2019. Meanwhile, Sisodia and his family have spent Rs. 13, 25, 329 on private hospitals from February 2014 - September 2019. Other ministers and their families too have spent more lakhs of rupees in private hospital's treatment over the years.
