Amid the opposition by the Congress party over Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's 'Shastra Puja', UP BJP leader Sidharth Nath Singh took down Grand Old party over its remarks. Speaking over the controversy on Wednesday, BJP UP minister stated that Congress is not attached to Indian rituals or else the party would not have come with such remarks. He further reminded the Sonia Gandhi-led party that the Indian armed forces perform Shastra Puja on the auspicious day of Vijaydashmi.

"Congress is not attached to rituals or else such statements would not have come. Do they even know that our armed forces also perform Shastra Puja? On such an auspicious day, we are receiving such a powerful weapon that can counter China and Pakistan," BJP leader Sidharth Nath Singh said.

Former Congress MP Rashid Alvi also targeted the Shastra Puja performed by the Raksha Mantri, terming it a 'drama' by the BJP party. He also stated that the decision to buy Rafale was first taken by the Congress party.

"The decision to buy was not taken by this party. It was taken by the Congress government. Who wouldn't want Rafale to be a part of our forces, but are against the 'drama' this government is doing in France," Congress leader Alvi added.

Congress leader Alka Lamba mocked the 'Shastra Puja' performed by Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh on the new Rafale aircraft, just before he was about to take off in it for a sortie on Tuesday. Taking to Twitter, Alka Lamba said, "Think now, France made Rafale has not even reached India and the first major success is achieved  by squashing two green lemons and saved India from the eyes of the evil." In another tweet, she tried to give a communal spin to the Puja being performed on the aircraft.
