After being sidelined in the NDA with the "2 seats" offer for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Union Minister of state for education Upendra Kushwaha has been attacking Nitish Kumar continuously for the past two weeks. Over seat sharing and Nitish's so-called "Neech" statement which has been manipulated by Kushwaha to garner political brownie points among the voters.

Now, since Sunday Kushwaha faced two counter attacks from the Nitish camp. First, there were reports that two RSLP MLAs have met Nitish Kumar and are willing to desert Kushwaha. Secondly, Kushwaha who had recently met Lok Janshakti Party chief Ramvilas Paswan and his son Chirag Paswan and was banking heavily on them for political support and securing more seats within the NDA.

Mr. Kushwaha got a huge blow when Chirag, much to the displeasure of Kushwaha, not only met Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and JDU Vice President Prashant Kishore at the CM house but also slammed Kushwaha for his recent meeting with Tejaswi.

Chirag went on to say that:

"Kushwaha Ji despite being part of NDA is meeting opposition leader (hinting at his meeting with Tejaswi) is wrong. Before giving any statement one should talk within the alliance ... its a one-way traffic for Upendra Ji. Upendra Ji should not make a controversial statement in public domain instead he should talk within the NDA. Nitish Ji our leader we talked about seat sharing as well".

A top political leader in the JDU said it was a courtesy meeting by Chirag Paswan and we have great respect for Ramvilas Ji who has fought for the upliftment of Dalits. Both Nitish Ji and Ramvilas Ji share an excellent bonhomie.

Kushwaha, who has been seeking Amit shah's intervention for Nitish allegedly calling him 'neech' at an event in Patna said:

"Nitish Kumar is breaking my party. I have lodged my protest with BJP. There is confusion within NDA. This has not gone down well with masses. I don't know what's the deal with the MLAs. They are scared of my popularity and mass base".

Kushwaha also reacted on Chirag slamming him for his meeting with Tejaswi.

He said " I know who to meet and whom not to meet. I will meet Amit Shah soon in Delhi and apprise him of the situation".

Kushwaha miffed with "two-seat offer" has been attacking Nitish Kumar. On October 31, 2018,  he launched the first salvo saying "that Nitish Kumar had told him that he does not want to continue CM beyond 2020 and that Nitish Kumar is tired".

The 'neech' politics attack a statement which has been twisted by Kushwaha was to get political mileage. When asked by a journalist about Upendra kushwaha's comment, Nitish had replied that "it was a discussion on development and on Bihar Model. Don't take the discussion to a lower level" which Kushwaha took upon himself. He thought that Nitish called him "neech.

Bihar deputy CM and senior BJP leader Sushil Modi have slammed Kushwaha in a tweet:

Kushwaha has been seeking an appointment from Amit Shah for quite some time to discuss seat sharing and the humiliation subjected to him by Nitish Kumar allegedly for calling him "neech" and breaking his party. But to his disappointment, he hasn't got any appointment from the BJP chief. Instead, he has been communicated by BJP Bihar in-charge Bhupendra Yadav that take 2 seats or leave NDA. Chirag's meeting with Nitish Kumar and Prashant Kishore and BJPs ignorance of Kushwaha may set the ball rolling and Kushwaha may have no option but to join the UPA as he is already having simultaneous back-channel negotiation with Tejaswi Yadav.
