The convoy of West Bengal BJP leaders has been attacked on Sunday in Dankuni in Hooghly by unknown miscreants. West Bengal WB leader Dilip Ghosh, National Secretary Rahul Sinha, State President of Mahila Morcha, BJP Locket Chatterjee and BJP National committee member Joy Banerjee were among those who were part of the group in the convoy.
They were traveling back to Kolkata. They were attending a public meeting in Dankuni.
The BJP leaders have blamed the state's chief minister Mamara Banerjee's party TMC for this attack. They have said that the CM is disturbed by the 'Save democracy Rathyatra' and that such attacks only help them be more determined.
Rahul Sinha has said that the attack shows the nervousness of Mamata Banerjee and how they want to stop the BJP.
Locket Chatterjee also accused the BJP and said that the attacks won't stop the 'Rathyatra'.
The BJP will take out a 42-day Rathyatra from December 5 with Amit Shah flagging off the rally which will most likely have the PM Narendra Modi giving a speech.
The party has said it will take out state wide protests on Monday for the attack on its state BJP chief Dilip Ghosh and other leaders.
Incidentally on Monday, Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu will be meeting the West Bengal CM with regards to the united front, a Mahagatbandhan against the BJP for the Lok Sabha 2019 polls.
