DMK president MK Stalin on Tuesday, in a statement, has said that the BJP with political intentions are targeting the Innocent Muslims in Tamilnadu by conducting NIA raids and torturing them which is not accepted at any extent. He has said that the state already has a Q branch which deals with such terror modules which is directly controlled by DGP and monitored by CM.

"Hence, why should NIA conduct raids and arrest people bypassing the state agencies?" states Stalin adding that the BJP is trying to polarise votes by targeting the minorities in the state.

He also insisted that the AIADMK government should question the intentions behind the raids and warned that if NIA is used for political benefits again, DMK will raise the issue in the Parliament and will protest democratically. This statement from the party president comes after the DMK MPs supporting the NIA bill, last week at the parliament after the debate.

Easter Bombings In Sri Lanka Likely To Be NIA's First Case Post Amendment Of Act

The recent crackdown of NIA in Tamilnadu has busted a new terror module named Ansarullah, after getting the inputs from the people who were deported from the UAE for having connections with the Yeman-based terror outfit. The agency conducted searches at more than 10 places a week ago as the continuation of the Ansarullah case.

The agency has also arrested 16 people in connection to this case and booked all of them under sever sections including 122 for collecting weapons to wage war against India and the investigation is still going on.

Congress' Milind Deora Welcomes Passage Of NIA Amendment Bill (2019) Despite His Party's Strong Fight Against It In Lok Sabha

BJP spokes person Narayana Tirupathi who reacted to the statement of MK Stalin said that "MK Stalin should understand the severity behind these raids and should not support these terror elements. The NIA has found serious terror links in the recent raids in Tamilnadu which should be probed. These statements are given to appease the Muslim voters and hence Stalin should stop that and behave responsibly"

People are also questioning DMK's stance, asking why the DMK MPs supported the NIA bill inside the Parliament while their leader lashes out against the raids. DMK leaders say that the bill was supported by the DMK, considering the national security while the statement given by the party president has to do with the politics behind the raids.
