DU's South Campus students join AAP's student wing ahead of polls

Months ahead of assembly polls in the national capital, young students associated with various student organisations of DU's South Campus colleges joined Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)'s student wing Chatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS) on Saturday. The students from various South Campus colleges including ARSD college and Motilal Nehru joined the AAP's student wing in the presence Delhi CM and party convener Arvind Kejriwal at the party headquarters. Delhi Cabinet Minister Gopal Rai and MP Sanjay Singh were also present at the occasion.

DU students join AAP student wing

Gopal Rai addressed a press briefing asserting that the DU students who have joined AAP will lead the pathway of the ideology of the party's student wing to their colleges and work towards strengthening the roots of the party. 

"All these students have decided to join AAP because of various initiatives being taken by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his government in Delhi towards a better future of students, youth and for public welfare. All these students will lead the pathway of the ideology of AAP's student organisation to their colleges and work towards strengthening the roots of the organisation in their respective colleges," he said, as reported by news agency ANI.

AAP gears for elections

The Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP has started preparing for the assembly elections which are due earlier next year in the national capital. From giving free metro rides to waiving off electricity bills, Arvind Kejriwal has been gearing up for the elections in the state. Earlier in August, addressing a press briefing, the AAP convener claimed that the party will form the government once again in Delhi in the upcoming election.
