Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday laid bare on a number of matters in his first interview post the Pulwama terror attack on February 14 in which 40 CRPF jawans attained martyrdom.

Speaking exclusively to Republic TV, Rajnath Singh condemned any politics that is being played over the attack, and said the 'so-called home grown terrorist' remark by the Congress party was unfortunate to say the least.

"Bahut hi durbhagyapoorna hai. Aatankwadi aatankwadi hota hai. Aatankwadi tathakathit nahi hota hai, so-called nahi hota hai. Aur agar aatankwad ka janm hua hai to Pakistan ki dharti pe hua hai. Attankwad ko shelter mil rahi to Pakistan ki dharti pe mil rahi hai. (It is condemnable. A terrorist is a terrorist, he is never a so-called terrorist. And if terrorism has taken birth, it is in Pakistan's soil. If terrorism is getting shelter, it is in Pakistan), " he said.

In the aftermath of the terror attack, a magazine released a data showing the caste consensus of the CRPF jawans who were martyred. And the Home Minister mentioned that it was a terrible thing to do.

"Bahut unfortunate, bahut hi durbhagyapoorna hai. Is approach ko mai condemn karta hu jisne bhi likha ho (It is very unfortunate. I condemn such approach whosoever has writeen it)," Rajnath Singh added.

On Thursday, Congress not only came up with the 'so-called' terrorist comment, but also accused PM Narendra Modi of turning a blind eye towards the attack. The grand old party alleged that the Prime Minister was busy shooting hours after the terror attack took place. But Rajnath Singh rejected such claims, and lashed out at every political party which is playing politics on the terror attack.

"Bilkul siyasat nahi honi chahiye. Jo bhi rajnetik party siyasat karti hai, bahut hi durbhagyapoorna hai. Bilkul nahi honi chahiye. Aur rajneet keval chunav ladne ke liye nahi hoti hai. Rajneet keval sarkar banane ke liye nahi hoti hai. Koi bhi rajnetik party tatha koi bhi rajneta agar rajneet karta hai to keval sarkar banane ke liye nahi, keval chunaav ladne ke liye nahi, desh banane ke liye rajneet karta hai, rashtra ke liye rajneet karta hai. Agar Pulwama ke bahadur jawano ke shahdit pe rajneet ho rahi hai to isse badi durbhagya ki aur koi dusri baat nahi ho sakti (There should be no politics. It is condemnable if political party is playing politics on this matter. It should not happen. Politics is not for elections, for forming government. If any politician is in politics, it is not just for elections or coming to power. It is for the betterment of the country. It is most unfortunate that politics is being played over the Pulwama attack in which jawans were martyred)," the Home Minister also mentioned.
