In a massive controversy, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday has accused the Congress party of trying to influence him by offering him Rs 25 lakh to cancel his public rallies in Telangana's Nirmal town.
While he was addressing a public gathering in poll-bound Telangana, Owaisi stated that Congress leader from Telangana's Nirmal Maheshwar Reddy ordered another leader to give him Rs 25 lakh in order to stop him from rallying in the state and revealed that he has a recording of the offer.
"Today when this rally was happening, Congress attempted to buy Asaduddin Owaisi. This Maheshwar(Maheshwar Reddy) calls and tells a minister to stop Owaisi and I will give 25 lakh rupees in the party fund. I have the recording. This Congressman will buy me in Rs 25 lakh?! They think we are for sale for Rs 25 lakh," alleged Owaisi addressing an election rally.
In the accessed video of the Owaisi's rally, as the AIMIM chief is addressing the public gathering, people present at the spot can be heard hooting and cheering him for his remarks.
In an earlier incident, Asaduddin Owaisi had targeted Congress by denying being a part of the anti-BJP alliance after Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu dared him to take sides. Owaisi also asserted that he found it strange that Congress president Rahul Gandhi and Chandrababu Naidu have joined hands, while adding that they are forming the alliance to go against him in Telangana.
"Suddenly, Chandrababu Naidu has jumped into the playing field as Rahul Gandhi thought he can't take on Asaduddin Owaisi alone, so he joined hands with Naidu. Politics is a strange thing. Dono me achanak nikah hogaya (Both has got together all of a sudden) . They suddenly formed the alliance. Chandrababu Naidu is talking about saving the nation. We will free Telangana from both BJP and Congress," AIMIM chief Owaisi has asserted while speaking in the matter.
