Had Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti dropped a huge hint indicating the dramatic events that were to unfold in Jammu and Kashmir?
Thursday evening has witnessed sensational and dramatic developments in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, starting with the National Conference and PDP putting aside years of ideological and political rivalry to enter into an alliance, with the support of the Congress, and culminating in the dissolution of the state's assembly by Governor Satya Pal Malik.

Wednesday evening has witnessed sensational and dramatic developments in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, starting with the National Conference and PDP putting aside years of ideological and political rivalry to enter into an alliance, with the support of the Congress, and culminating in the dissolution of the state's assembly by Governor Satya Pal Malik.
However, if Mehbooba Mufti and Omar Abdullah's Twitter activity is anything to go by, a massive hint had potentially been dropped about staking claim to forming a government, hours before it happened.
The hint pertains to a tweet issued by Omar Abdullah, and a cryptic one at that.
The former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister had tweeted:
However, while this tweet, in itself, was a big clue, what was even bigger was the fact that Mehbooba Mufti 'liked' it.
It was after this that Mufti issued a letter to the Jammu and Kashmir Governor, claiming to have 56 MLAs' backing, and stating her intention to form a government in the state. Meanwhile, Handwara MLA Sajad Lone also sent a letter to the J&K Governor, staking his own claim, with the backing of the BJP.
However, with the Governor subsequently dissolving the assembly, it remains to be seen whether it'll be the current configurations that form a government, or whether there will be fresh elections.
Omar Abdullah has also questioned the Governor's action, in a subsequent tweet, writing:
