Bestselling author Chetan Bhagat, who is never afraid of dipping his toes into a raging political debate, has put forth his views and issued some advice to netizens over the current political scenario.

In a string of tweets, the 2 States author who will be releasing a new book later this year, warned against 'painting Congress in pure Gold', as many have been doing since the events in the Karnataka Elections.

Chetan Bhagat has reminded people of what was going on before the Narendra Modi-led BJP government came into power. He summed up the scenario thusly:

"Hate Modi or BJP. You have the right to. But think twice before painting Congress in pure gold. Don't forget massive scams in their time, where spectrum, coal and even games weren't spared. Citizens have to make a choice during elections, but then must keep all parties accountable."

On the specific topic of voting, Bhagat has told voters to make their choice but not shirk from holding all parties accountable:

"If you are a true Indian citizen, make a choice during elections but then keep all parties accountable on real issues, even the one you voted for."

However, at this point, he has also called out 'troll voters' whose voting habits he claims to be familiar with:

"If you are a troll, vote and side with one party and keep screaming in their defense all day long on twitter."
