Hours before the grand 'Howdy, Modi! Shared Dreams, Bright Futures' community event, the members of the Sikh community gave a grand welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As he walked up to them, the people gathered for the interaction clapped vociferously and chanted "Bole So Nihal...Sat Sri Akal" in unison. A member of the delegation presented an orange shawl to him, after which the PM greeted them. On microblogging site Twitter, details of the PM's interaction with the Sikh community were revealed. They congratulated PM Modi for some of the revolutionary decisions taken by the Indian government.

According to an individual, who was part of the engagement with the PM, the very fact that the United States of America President Donald Trump is personally flying down to Houston to join PM Modi at the event, is a sign that India is on the right track. Citing the election results, he reckoned that PM Modi had delivered on every promise he made. He thanked him on behalf of the Indo-American chamber. Furthermore, the Sikh community lauded him for the Kartarpur Corridor and submitted a memorandum.
PM Modi is all set to address the 'Howdy, Modi!' community gathering which is being hosted in his honour in Houston, Texas, a few hours later. The event is going to be held at the NRG stadium. Already, more than 50,000 people have registered with many others on the waiting list. It will also feature a 90-minute cultural programme with audio feed in English, Hindi, and Spanish. Moreover, US President Donald Trump is going to be present on the occasion. The White House Press Secretary stated that ways to deepen the energy and trade relationship would be discussed during the meeting between PM Modi and the US President. Subsequently, the PM thanked President Trump’s “special gesture”. He opined that President Trump joining the 'Howdy, Modi!' programme was a recognition of the contribution of the Indian community to American society and economy. Also, singing sensation Sparsh Shah has been selected to perform the Indian National Anthem at the event.
