  • An RJD leader has made a sensational claim that their party leadership is more focussed on the World Cup
  • This comes after a day when former CM of Bihar Rabri Devi targeted the NDA government in Bihar for the rising Encephalitis death toll
  • 'I am assuming that because World Cup is going on so maybe they have gone to watch the Cricket World Cup', senior RJD leader claimed

A day after former Chief Minister of Bihar and wife of RJD supremo Rabri Devi made a scathing attack on the NDA government in the state of Bihar, an RJD leader has targeted his own party.

In a sensational remark against his own party, senior RJD leader Raghuvansh Pratap Singh has said that RJD netas must have gone to World Cup.

"You must go and find out if they are here. If they are in the city or in the state. I don't know where they are. I am assuming that because World Cup is going on so maybe they have gone to watch the Cricket World Cup," Raghuvansh Pratap Singh said while speaking to media.

As the death toll of children in the district of Muzaffarpur in Bihar rose above 100-mark on Tuesday, former Chief Minister of the state Rabri Devi called it insensitivity of the NDA government and held the Nitish Kumar-led-government responsible for the deaths. She has questioned the silence of Nitish Kumar.

Taking to Twitter, the wife of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav said that the death of the children is due to the negligence of the CM and due to his corrupt and insensitive system. She went on to say that in 14 years of Nitish Kumar's rule, every year there had been such deaths but there has not been any step to stop the epidemic. She added that neither has there been vaccination nor medicine for the disease. This came despite her own son and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav being silent on the deaths of children in the state.

Speaking to Republic TV, Singh took a backtrack on his statement and said that all other party members are camping in Muzaffarpur and Tejashwi Yadav is not the only person at the party.

"We are here, our netas are going, we are doing candle-march protests. No Tejashwi is not here but he is not the only one person in our party, our MP like Surendra Yadav went there. We are here in Muzaffarpur," he said.

When asked what the Mahagathbandhan government did when Tej Pratap Yadav was health minister, a seemingly annoyed Singh said:

"Why should the opposition be responsible? Harsh Vardhan came now, he repeated the same thing last year. No body is pointing him out. Our government was not responsible, we did everything, during our time only two or three cases were there. Go and check the figure, no one died during our time. Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi is responsible. Tejashwi is not here, why should everybody be involved in one work?"
