As RJD's current chief Tejashwi Yadav has called a party meeting on May 28 and May 29, following the embarrassing defeat of the Lalu Prasad Yadav-led RJD in the Lok Sabha elections in Bihar where the party drew a blank, his brother Tej Pratap Yadav has written a letter addressing his brother on poll issues and way forward for the party.

On May 28, Tej Pratap in his letter reminded his younger brother Tejashwi Yadav that he had demanded only two seats Sheohar and Jahanabad for two popular candidates. He also added that he had cautioned him(Tejashwi) to beware of elements surrounding him who wanted to divide the party and create a rift between both the brother. Further, in his letter, Tej Pratap wrote that he is ready to support Tejashwi as a Cheif Minister candidate for the 2020 election.

Confirming the rift between the brothers, Tej Pratap who referred to Tejashwi as 'Arjun Tejashwi' wrote: "My only request is that I am your elder brother. Please give heed to my advice as I am against anti-social elements.

In his letter, he began by saying that this was the first election in the absence of Lalu Prasad Yadav. He also urged that all the candidates who lost should analyse the ground reasons for their defeat instead of the blame-game. He said that he will be revolting against the EVM - EVM hatao, desh bachao revolution. He also said that instead of being sad about the result of the Lok Sabha polls, the party should prepare for 2020 assembly polls in Bihar.

He also tweeted saying whosoever has doubt on Tejashwi's leadership can leave the party.

Meanwhile, in infighting within the party, Maheshwar Yadav, MLA from Gaighat assembly seat in Muzaffarpur has demanded Tejashwi Yadav's resignation. He said:

"Citizens have given their verdict against the dynasty politics so now RJD must understand and hand over the party leadership to a senior leader of the party. Tejashwi should take moral responsibility and he should quit, we did not get one seat. RJD should go ahead under a new leader. I will not reveal the MLAs I am in touch with but revolt will soon happen.. I won't be the part of the meeting until Tejashwi quits."

However, Tej  Pratap who claims to be the 'real blood of Lalu Prasad Yadav' spoke to Republic Bharat on the rebel MLA Maheshwar Yadav. He said:

"Maheshwar Yadav is alleging but ask him who made him the MLA. Who selected him? Does he have any status? He has a rebellious attitude. He should resign from the party instead. Tejashwi ji will decide at the party meet tomorrow about the defeat."
