Former Union minister and ex BJP rebel leader Yashwant Sinha recently took a sarcastic dig at PM Narendra Modi-led NDA government and said that he was “wrong in criticising demonetization.” Continuing his tirade against the Central government he took another swipe at it and said, “It (demonetisation) has completely stopped stone pelting in Kashmir and ended black money in India and Switzerland?”

Sinha’s latest critique on the Modi government came after the annual data by Swiss National Bank (SNB) revealed that money parked by Indians in Swiss banks rose over 50 per cent to CHF 1.01 billion (Rs 7,000 crore) in 2017.

Sinha had also alleged that the NDA government is confused that development can be attained through welfare schemes.

Earlier on Friday, a day after the latest data from the Swiss National Bank was released West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee took a swipe at Narendra Modi-led Central government. In a suggestive tweet, hinting at demonetisation being the reason of the money rising in Swiss bank, she wrote:

"Bravo! #DeMonetisation?...Swiss Bank money flying. India losing."

Congress President Rahul Gandhi also took a jibe at PM Modi and said that after the revelation by Swiss National Bank’s data, Modi will say, “50% jump in Swiss Bank deposits by Indians, is "WHITE" money. No "BLACK" in Swiss Banks!”

Furthermore, on Saturday, in an ironical twist to the Vijay Mallya case, the liquor baron who is currently being stared at by a fugitive economic offender tag, has retweeted Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s tweet, attacking government on black money.

The PMLA Special court has summoned Vijay Mallya and others on August 27, taking cognisance of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) plea to bring back Mallya under the new Economic Offender's Bill. As per the ED application, Mallya owes banks around Rs 9,990 crore, as of May 2018.

If Mallya does not appear before the designated court within the given time, he will be declared as a 'fugitive' and ED will move to confiscate his assets worth Rs 12,500 crore, the court stated.
