Hours after the portfolios were allocated to the ministers in the second term of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, H D Kumaraswamy took to Twitter to congratulate former Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman who has now been appointed as the new Finance Minister.

Hours after the portfolios were allocated to the ministers in the second term of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy took to Twitter to congratulate former Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman who has now been appointed as the new Finance Minister.
Kumaraswamy, who attended the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, said in his tweet that he talked to Sitharaman on call and congratulated her. He added that it is a pride for the state of Karnataka as Sitharaman hails from the state. He also said that he has sought her cooperation for overall development of the state. Here's his tweet:

A day ahead of the swearing-in of the Prime Minister and the cabinet, former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley wrote a letter to PM Narendra Modi opting out of being entrusted with formal responsibilities in the next government. After the development, the post for the Finance Minister was speculated to be filled by BJP chief and Gandhinagar MP Amit Shah. However, when the portfolios were allocated Shah appointed as Home Minister and Sitharaman as Finance Minister.
