It seems that all is not well within the Congress camp in Karnataka. The Jarkiholi brothers who are staunch supporters of former CM Siddaramiah are apparently feeling the pinch after his tenure came to an end. The recently concluded PLD bank chief's elections have only made things worse for the Jarkiholi's. Suffering a setback and that too in the hands of Belagavi rural MLA Laxmi Hebbalkar has left the duo seething.

BJP trying to rope in Jarkiholi brothers?

The BJP which has been playing wait and watch is monitoring the situation closely. And if rumours are to be believed some members in the party even contacted the Jarkiholi brothers. It is said that the saffron party offered them the post of DyCM.

The Jarkiholi brothers aren't alone, apparently around 13 MLAs are behind them and are ready to follow suit. Sources told Republic TV that Ramesh Jarkiholi could travel to Hyderabad any time soon with 13 Congress MLAs. Ramesh's brother Satish Jarkiholi too has hinted that anything can happen in the next 15 days.

Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has however denied the reports of any rift within the government. He said, " Our government is stable. I'm not aware of any such dissent. There is no danger to the Congress- JD(S)  in Karnataka".

When he was asked about rumours of BJP members poaching JD(S) and Congress MLAs, HDK added "If you want something different, a U-turn, then we'll see in the coming days we will make around 5 BJP members quit".

Ramesh Jarkiholi too deined reports of dissent. Briefing the media, he said" There is no dissent. I had a discussion with DyCM G Parameshwara and KPCC chief Dinesh Gundu Rao. The matter has been settled now."

The BJP quickly latched on to the issue and said the government would crumble because of the internal rift." We're not engaging in any kind of poaching. The internal differences within the Congress party has now come out. We've not approached anyone."

Interestingly, sources said the BJP too has instructed its MLAs not to fly abroad for the coming weeks. This insurgency has now turned out to be the biggest nightmare for the coalition government.
