Amid the rift within the Madhya Pradesh Congress government, party leader Jyotiraditya Scindia on Wednesday demanded Chief Minister Kamal Nath to hold talks with Forest Minister Umang Singhar and Digvijaya Singh in order to resolve the issue. Confirming the reports of rift within the Congress party leaders in the state, Scindia said that the government in Madhya Pradesh was made after a long struggle and if a rift has occurred within the leaders, then he asserted it is the responsibility of the Chief Minister to resolve the matter. Scindia called for MP CM Kamal Nath to listen to both sides (Umang Singhar and Digvijaya Singh) and find a solution in the matter. Hinting at the remarks
"The Chief Minister should listen to both sides and find a solution to the matter. After a great struggle and hard work, of 15 years, the Congress party was able to form the government in Madhya Pradesh. It has not been even 6 months. The government was formed with the hopes and aspirations of a new Madhya Pradesh and this government should work to fulfill those aspirations. And if some rifts are emerging between leaders, it is the responsibility of the Chief Minister to sit and discuss and resolve the matter. The government should work on its strong will and no one should interfere in its matter. Issues should be resolved when the truth is out," Jyotiraditya Scindia said while speaking to reporters.
The Congress leader's remarks have come in the light of reports of war of words between Madhya Pradesh Forest Minister Umang Singhar and former CM Digvijaya Singh on Monday. Singhar alleged that 'Digvijaya is running the MP government behind the scenes'. While addressing an event in Dhar, the Congress minister slammed Digvijaya Singh for not letting CM Kamal Nath run the government in the state.
A day after Umang Singhar alleged Digvijaya Singh of running the Kamal Nath government from behind the curtains, he claimed that the Congress veteran is blackmailing the ministers in the state. He went onto write a letter to the Congress party high command complaining about the alleged meddling. Umang Singhar is a Congress MLA and the nephew of former deputy Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Jamuna Devi.
