The BJP has issued a statement via Twitter over the sensational events of the day, which saw the Jammu and Kashmir government being dissolved by Governor Satya Pal Malik, even as competing claims were made to form a government in the state.

In the statement, the BJP calls the new alliance of PDP-JKNC-Congress 'terror-friendly parties' and cites the prevailing security situation in the state to conclude that the best solution at this point is to go in for fresh elections as the current assembly cannot produce a stable assembly.

These tweets follow the political events unfolding in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. Firstly, setting aside years of enmity, the PDP and JKNC allied with each other, as well as the Congress, indicating the intention to form a government in the state. Hours later, a letter staking a claim was sent to the Governor Satya Pal Malik by Mehbooba Mufti. Almost simultaneously, a parallel claim was sent by Handwara MLA Sajad Lone, who claimed to have the backing of the BJP. However, the J&K Governor dissolved the state assembly leaving fresh elections as the likeliest outcome.
