On the day when whole of India stood in solidarity to pay tribute to the martyrs on the 10th anniversary of the gruesome 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, Meghalaya Governor Tathagata Roy courted major controversy by stating that the Pakistan-sponsored attack was a slaughter of innocents(except Muslims).

In a shocker of a statement, the ex-Governor of Tripura took to Twitter to state that Muslims were the only ones to not get affected by the heinous act of terror. On his official Twitter handle, he wrote, "10th anniversary today of the Paki-sponsored slaughter of innocents (except Muslims) at Mumbai, popularly called 26/11. Does anyone remember why we didn’t even downgrade our diplomatic relations with the Pakis (let alone break off such relations or go to war)?"

But moments later, he deleted the post and came up with a clarification, wherein he apologized for his previous message. "I was misinformed of the Paki-sponsored killers of 26/11 having spared Muslims. In fact several Muslims were killed. It was a mistake of facts and I am sorry for the same. The relevant tweet has been deleted," he added.
