Mumbai Rains | Insensitive much? 'Blameless' Shiv Sena's MP posts poem as city reels under deluge

As heavy downpour has submerged the city of Mumbai and a wall fell in Malad killing as many as 18 people, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut said that it is due to heavy rains. In a bizarre response he tweeted a poem regarding the Mumbai rains even as the city is in mayhem. He has also stated that there is no need to blame the Maharashtra government or the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) as these are accidents that has occurred due to nature's fury.

Taking to Twitter he wrote a poem in Hindi that meant that there must be some wishes of the droplets otherwise who would have fallen after reaching the sky.

Earlier while speaking to news agency ANI, he said:

"Its not about BMC. In Pune, is there BMC? Heavy rains are responsible. In mountain areas also, when there is heavy downpour parts of hill collapses. In Mumbai too there are certain areas which can collapse due to rains. BMC has nothing to do with it. These are accidents."

He then said that BMC, Mumbai Police and social workers are all working together to help people. He added that Chief Minister of Maharashtra has issued a compensation of 5 lakhs to victims.

"Monsoon began late in Mumbai. People were also facing water scarcity. Now it rained so heavily that Mumbai has submerged in water. Government was prepared. Illegal works were stopped, drains have been cleaned for passage of water, but sometimes the nature's fury is beyond anything."
