  • Navjot Singh Sidhu has compared the incident of him hugging the Pakistan Army Chief to the Rafale deal

Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu, while speaking in Pakistan on Tuesday, has compared the incident of him hugging the neighbouring country's Army Chief to the Rafale deal saying it happened only for a second, and was not a 'Rafale deal'.

"I just hugged Bajwa for one second. The hugging incident is not a Rafale deal. It was two Punjabis hugging. It was the love between two Punjabis," he said.

He also responded to questions on Kashmir and said, "Only talks can help Kashmir."

He also said that the Congress leadership backed his Pakistan visit. "Congress central leadership has backed me and praised me," he said.

On his visit to the Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan, he said, "The Baba Nanak's corridor is a symbol of peace. I feel that this corridor will be a bridge and will erase enmity. It will increase people to people contact and bring peace. This is a corridor of infinite possibilities. It is the re-opening of failed relationship. I have a dream, that the corridor reaches till Moscow and London. Nanak belongs to Hindus and Muslims. I feel the same in Pakistan as I did in India. PM Imran Khan will lay the foundation for peace and love tomorrow. Let's bury the past. Muslims, Christians and Hindus worship in war-torn Jerusalem, Sikhs are deprived from worshiping in Pakistan. It feels like it has rained in a desert for us."

Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu reached Pakistan to attend the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the Kartarpur Corridor on Tuesday noon. Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan will be present at the event.

Sidhu entered the Pakistan border at noon and was seen posing with Pakistani Rangers. He spoke about the criticism he faced at home for his decision to visit the neighbouring country. He said that he will take all criticisms and will forgive those who criticise him. He also said his visit will build the relationship between the two countries.
