Indian National Congress (INC) President Rahul Gandhi made many remarks and allegations against the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) during his long speech on the no-confidence motion at the Lok Sabha on Friday.

Though, the Congress leader tried to end his speech on a funny note, with his actions drawing laughter in the whole house. Rahul, prior to the conclusion of his speech, took a dig at BJP and PM Narendra Modi, saying, "You hate me. You are angry with me. For you, I am Pappu. You can abuse me in different ways. But for me, there is not even a pinch of hatred, negativity and anger towards you."

In a speech, which went on for nearly 45 minutes, Rahul hit out at BJP and Modi on various fronts like the Rafale deal, the price of oil and farmers issue. He constantly termed the present government as 'jumla', and criticized them for failing to deliver on their promises.

The opposition leader also tried to make the situation funny in the end by going towards his opposite number and hugging him, and then shaking his hands. Rahul's antics though, drew criticism from SAD leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal.

And there was a moment of huge controversy during his speech. In the middle, Rahul accused the PM and Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman of lying to the nation regarding the Rafale deal.

According to the Congress leader,  Nirmala had lied to the nation that there is an agreement signed between the Indian government and French government over the non-disclosure of the prices of the jet planes.

Rahul also added that he personally spoke to the French President on this matter, and the latter clearly told him that no such agreement was in place. This very comment of his drew loud shouting from the NDA corner, who asked the Congress President to back the claims with proof.
