West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has touted the strength of the united front that would be attending her upcoming mega rally in Kolkata on January 19, while simultaneously questioning the number of seats the Congress will manage to win in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections following the snub that Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi delivered to her by turning down her invite

She was addressing the media about her mega-rally on January 19 in Kolkata.

When asked if the total number of seats of the leaders who are attending the rally will be more than that of the BJP and the Congress, she said:

"Obviously. The seats will be more than BJP. Congress, I don't know about Congress, depends on elections. BJP will not get more than 125 seats."

The grand opposition mega rally spearheaded by Mamata Banerjee's TMC will be held on January 19 at Brigade Sabha in Kolkata, with an intention to showcase the strength of opposition against the saffron party. She spoke about the rally to be to the media.

"Rally will be a united India rally. All political leaders will address the nation. It will be a mega rally. It will obviously spell a death knell for BJP," she said.

While she had invited Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, they will not be attending the rally. Senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge will be joining instead.

While announcing the mega rally, the TMC supremo had said:

"We have made a publicity campaign committee for January 19 Brigade Sabha. All the opposition parties and leaders have been invited. This is to go against the current BJP government. We have got the permission to hold this event. We have invited everyone as we do not consider anyone small. CPM does a lot of things against me. They do whatever they feel like because they do not have any ideals. But I am not ready to accept that everyone is bad in Left, hence I have invited Kerala CM. Akhilesh Yadav, Mayawati, Omar Abdullah, MK Stalin, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi are all invited.  Chandrababu Naidu and Omar Abdullah have confirmed their presence already. Arvind Kejriwal had given confirmation he will join us on Jan 19."

Several party leaders are expected to participate in the mega rally against the BJP-led government, including former J&K CM Omar Abdullah, Rashtriya Janata Dal's Tejashwi Yadav, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu, Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal and Janata Dal-S leader and former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda.
