PM Modi sets the terms on Kashmir

PM Modi set the agenda straight with US President Trump at the G7 Summit, as he assured that all issues between India and Pakistan are bilateral in nature. He said that India does not want to bother other countries over them. The Prime Minister also assured that a solution can be found between the two countries after discussions.

"All issues between India & Pakistan are bilateral in nature. This is why we don't bother any other country regarding them. We can discuss issues together and find a solution. Donald Trump backs off on Kashmir

US President Donald Trump on Monday backed off on the Kashmir issue. He said that 'the Prime Minister (Modi) has it under control,' during his bilateral meeting with PM Modi at the G7 Summit at Biarritz. Interacting with the media after the meeting, Donald Trump conceded that the two nations can solve the issue bilaterally. He also hoped that Indo-Pak discussions on Kashmir will be fruitful.

"I have a very good relationship with both the gentlemen (PM Modi and Imran Khan). I think they can do it themselves. They have been doing it for a long time. We spoke last night about Kashmir, Prime Minister (Modi) really feels he has it under control. They speak with Pakistan. I'm sure that they will be able to do something that will be very good," US President Trump said.

Congress praises Modi

Abhishek Manu Singhvi's remarks supporting Modi on Kashmir issue comes days after he had praised PM Modi's Ujjwala scheme on Twitter. He had said the Ujjawal scheme is among the good deeds. Agreeing with Jairam Ramesh's remarks on PM Modi, Abhishek Manu Singhvi also said that always demonising PM Modi is "wrong". Speaking at an event, Jairam Ramesh had said that PM Modi's governance model is not a "complete negative story". Jairam Ramesh had added that not recognising Modi's work and demonising him all the time is not going to help.
