Priyanka Gandhi Vadra finally joins Twitter with a verified account. Here's who all she is following

Fresh from being appointed as Congress' General Secretary in Uttar Pradesh East for the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, much like her peers and brother Rahul Gandhi, has become an active member on Twitter.

The youngest member of the Gandhi scion, who was in January confirmed to join politics, became a part of the social media website on Monday, a move which can seen as a way to reach out to the people of the country.

The Congress party announced her arrival on Twitter and posted a message in this regard, which read, "Smt. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is now on Twitter. You may follow her at @priyankagandhi"

This development comes on a day Priyanka, along with her brother Rahul will arrive in Uttar Pradesh ahead of their four-day tour in the state. The brother-sister duo, along with Jyotiraditya Scindia (newly appointed UP West General Secretary) and KK Venugopal, are expected to carry out a 12-kilometre long road show. It will be the first instance of Priyanka coming out in public and fighting for her party.

She was officially inducted into the party ranks on January 23 by the party president and her brother Rahul Gandhi. Priyanka was expected to take charge on February 4, but only did so on February 6.

The younger of the Gandhi siblings becomes the second high profile politician to have joined Twitter in the recent past. BSP supremo Mayawati had on February 6 announced that she was set to join the social media website.

"This to inform you BSP (Bahujan Samaj Party) national president, former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and ex-MP Mayawatiji has for the first time decided to join Twitter for speedy interaction with media and masses, besides expressing her views on various issues of national and political importance through Twitter," the release posted on Mayawati's Twitter handle @SushriMayawati said.
