With months left for the Rajasthan elections, a big political fight has broken out within the Congress party. An internal revolt is staring at Congress President Rahul Gandhi as there is a fight over who will be the Chief Minister candidate for the Congress party in Rajasthan. A leader from Sachin Pilot's camp has come out and written a letter to Rahul Gandhi stating the reasons why Ashok Gehlot shouldn’t be the CM candidate. And, now as the Pilot and Gehlot camps have seemingly drawn their daggers, it’s remain to be seen what step will Rahul Gandhi take.
Sensing the crisis, Rahul Gandhi has called a meeting at his residence on Monday at 4 pm. Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot will be there in the meeting.
Inder Mohan Singh, the leader from the Sachin Pilot camp who wrote letter to Rahul Gandhi, said the Congress workers want a young chief minister and that they want to see Sachin Pilot as the chief minister.
“Respected Ashokji has given a statement in Udaipur which has put Congress workers in a dilemma. The young Congress workers are working with gusto and want a young chief minister, they want Sachin Pilot. Sachin Pilotji has been working so hard, 24*7 for the Congress party, for the benefit of the state. Everyone wants to see him as the chief minister. No doubt about that,” said Inder Mohan Singh.
On the other hand, Ashok Gehlot evaded the question on clash within the Congress for the CM face and reacted in a diplomatic manner saying:
“I am a soldier of Congress who hasn't asked for anything other than the ticket in '77. Whoever the Congress president has been, be it Indiraji, Rajivji, Narasimha rao or Soniaji, Congress has always given me everything without asking. I have always fulfilled my responsibilities. Whatever the decision is, I will fulfill my responsibility. I will keep serving the people of Rajasthan wherever I'll be.”
The leaders belonging to the Sachin Pilot camp has gone against Ashok Gehlot following his recent statement on who will be the chief minister face in the state. While answering the question, Gehlot indirectly hinted that he will be the only chief minister face. He also said that ‘people’s voice is god’s voice.
Meanwhile, Gehlot recently slammed Vasundhara Raje’s rath yatra and said that public money is being spent on publicity of BJP and during this yatra. He also said that all the government machinery will be used for the yatra, which in turns which runs from the hard-earned money of the public
Gehlot also said that public will give a befitting response to the BJP in the upcoming elections.
