Rahul Gandhi makes most of Delhi Chaos: Targets CM Arvind Kejriwal and PM Modi

Congress president Rahul Gandhi has waded into the controversy around the shambolic events in New Delhi where the Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, has been camping at the residence of Lieutenant-Governor Anil Baijal for eight days as part of a dharna against the state's bureaucrats.

Taking to Twitter, Rahul Gandhi has attacked the AAP government in Delhi and the BJP government at the Centre, writing:

"Delhi CM, sitting in Dharna at LG office. 

BJP sitting in Dharna at CM residence.

Delhi bureaucrats addressing press conferences.

PM turns a blind eye to the anarchy; rather nudges chaos & disorder.

People of Delhi are the  victims, as this drama plays out."

Earlier, Aam Aadmi Party chief and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal continued with his strike even as various IAS and other associations clarified that contrary to the news that was being spread to "achieve some political end", they were at work. Kejriwal is insistent that the L-G must issue direction to the bureaucrats to end their 'strike'.

Meanwhile, two of the four AAP leaders who were on dharna at the L-G's house, Satyendar Jain and Deputy CM Manish Sisodia, had to be taken to hospital as their health deteriorated, leaving Kejriwal and Gopal Rai at the L-G's office.

Hearing a petition on the matter, the Delhi High Court on Monday asked the AAP government 'who authorised the sit-in at the L-G's office?':

"Who authorised the strike/dharna (sit-in by Kejriwal)? You are sitting inside the LG's office. If it's a strike, it has to be outside the office," the court told lawyers appearing for the Delhi government

Meanwhile, the Congress party staged a massive 'Jal Satyagraha Protest' against the Aam Aadmi Party. The national capital is facing water crisis due to Haryana government allegedly curtailing its supply. Delhi Congress leader Ajay Maken hit out at Arvind Kejriwal's sit-in protest while addressing a rally. He said that even as Delhi suffers, the Chief Minister continues his protest against Lieutenant Governor. 

"People are dying in Delhi due to water shortage. In festivals like Eid, people do not have adequate water", Maken said.

The Congress leader then hit out at Arvind Kejriwal by calling his protest a drama: "Kejriwal is doing drama. They know that they have failed as a government".

The BJP, meanwhile, has taken the protest to the next stage by holding a ‘Sadbuddhi Hawan’ for Kejriwal and all the other ministers who were supporting him. The hawan was held seeking divine intervention to bring 'some sense' into Arvind Kejriwal and all the supporting ministers. Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta, who is a BJP Delhi MLA, on Friday began an indefinite fast against Kejriwal's protest.

Over the weekend, four Chief Ministers, Mamata Banerjee, Chandrababu Naidu, HD Kumaraswamy and Pinarayi Vijayan had expressed solidarity with Arvind Kejriwal's protest. The non-cooperation of the bureaucrats with AAP ministers began with the alleged assault on Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash. Union Minister Vijay Goel had the following to say:

"This is a drama that has a 2-minute solution - let them apologise to the Chief Secretary. They are 'maafi' experts anyway".
