Hours after Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Venkaiah Naidu rejected the impeachment motion against the Chief Justice Of India (CJI) Dipak Misra, Congress President Rahul Gandhi launched an all-out attack against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

While addressing ‘Save Constitution’ rally at New Delhi’s Talkatora stadium, Rahul Gandhi dared the Prime Minister and said that he was just allowed to speak for 15 minutes in Parliament, he would embarrass PM Modi.

He said that if he were to be allowed to speak in Parliament, he would embarrass the Prime Minister in 15 minutes.

"Let me just debate with PM Modi for 15 minutes in Parliament. I will speak about Rafale and Nirav Modi for 15 minutes. Modiji will not be able to stand there.”

Rahul’s dare has now turned into a war-of-words of sorts between the Congress President and BJP’s spokesperson Dr Sambit Patra.

Reacting to his scathing statement, Dr Sambit Patra while addressing a news briefing on the rejection of impeachment motion said:

“The man who cannot write two lines without looking at his mobile phone, he wants to speak for 15 minutes. When the last time you were supposed to speak, you had said your words will cause earthquake. However, when you spoke, you spoke about potato factory. Did you want to cause earthquake by opening a potato factory?,” came Sambit Patra’s rejoinder.

“The man who doesn’t know where do potatoes grow and how a chips factory looks like, that man wants to speak for 15 minutes,” said Patra.

Meanwhile, after Vice President Venkaiah Naidu's rejection of the impeachment motion, the Congress party has decided to move Supreme Court regarding the rejection. While addressing a press conference, senior advocate and Congress leader Kapil Sibal said that the party is confident that when it will move a petition in the apex court, the CJI willhave nothing to do with it.
