The BJP has released a video of Rahul Gandhi 'bloopers' as a response to the Congress president's challenge to the Prime Minister to face him in a 15-minute debate.
Speaking at the Congress's #SaveTheConstitution rally in New Delhi on Monday, Rahul Gandhi had said that if he were to be allowed to speak in Parliament for 15 minutes, the Prime Minister wouldn't be able to stand there.
"If I am allowed to speak for 15 minutes in Parliament, about Rafale and Nirav Modi, the Prime Minister will not be able to stand there."
The Congress twitter handle also released a poll asking: "Do you think PM Modi will be brave enough to accept Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s challenge to a 15-minute debate?"
In response, the BJP, via its own Twitter handle, has put out a video captioned:
"Rahul ji, we all want you to speak in Parliament... How can we let go off such fun!"
The video contains numerous 'gaffes' by Rahul Gandhi from a speech he made in the Lok Sabha. It is supplemented by sound-effects, including a laughter track.
The Congress president had picked up his attack on the Modi government on Monday, targeting them over a number of issues. He alleged that the government had destroyed constitutional institutions, but, alarmingly, said that the Congress had given the country the Constitution.
"In 70 years, the Congress party gave the country the Constitution and institutions. BJP and RSS will never protect the Constitution. And in the upcoming 2019 elections, the people of this country will tell PM Modi their 'Mann ki Baat'."
The BJP took note of Rahul Gandhi failing to mention the Father of the Constitution BR Ambedkar, and Amit Shah wrote a post titled 'Saving the Constitution or Saving Dynasty?'
