Actor-turned politician Rajinikanth released a statement on Sunday saying he will not to contest in Lok Sabha elections in 2019 and also added that he will not support any political party. He further said that his photo or party symbol should strictly not be used for any propaganda.

Actor-turned politician Rajinikanth released a statement on Sunday saying he will not contest in Lok Sabha elections in 2019 and also added that he will not support any political party.

He further said that his photo or party symbol should strictly not be used for any propaganda.

"My party has no support in the upcoming parliamentary election to any parties. So no one should use my photo or flags in the name of Rajini Makkal Mandram and Rajini Fan Club should be used to support or campaign for any party," ANI quoted him as saying.


He also said in the statement that the issue in focus in Tamil Nadu politics remains the water woes of the state. 

"The main problem in Tamil Nadu  in the upcoming election who set up a stable, strong regime in the centre to solve water problem of Tamil Nadu and implement it people should believe them and must vote them.”

The superstar announced his entry into politics on his birthday on December 31 2017, he turned his fan club into the Rajini Makkal Mandram into a political outfit. The outfit is putting together a framework for the party.

In the wake of the recent attack, Indian superstar Rajinikanth issued a statement condemning the heinous terrorist attack on CRPF Jawans.

He conveyed condolences to the families of our martyred solderers and demanded justice for them suggesting the need to hit back at the perpetrators.

He said that the Pulwama terrorist attack is 'unpardonable' and that the time has come to put an end to all these barbaric activities.

"I strongly condemn the unpardonable violence of the terrorists at Pulwama in Kashmir.. enough is enough..! Time has come to put an end to all these barbaric acts. My heart goes out to the families of the Jawans who lost their lives and are injured. To those brave hearts departed.. may their souls rest in peace," he stated.
