A ruckus broke out in the Punjab Assembly on Thursday after state Congress Chief Navjot Singh Sidhu engaged in an ugly argument with SAD MLA Bikram Singh Majithia.

Sidhu’s Vidhan Sabha speech was interrupted by Majithia, who reminded the cricketer-turned-politician of his stint in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In a scathing response to the Akali Dal leader, Sidhu said switching from the BJP to Congress was like having returned to his 'biological mother' from his 'stepmother.'

"Pehle main Kaikeyi ke pas tha aur aab main Kaushalaya k pas aagya hun," the PPCC chief told Majitjhia. Sidhu further lashed out at the SAD legislator saying, "O tusker peeche ho." (Back off smuggler.)

CM Channi tells Majita, 'You're addicted to drugs'

A special session had been called in the Vidhan sabha to discuss the expansion of the Border Security Force (BSF) in Punjab, during which CM Charanjit Singh Channi also spoke about the contentious agricultural laws.

During his address, the CM targeted the Akali Dal, making personal remarks on Majithia. "Aapka toh rom rom kisi na kisi gandagi se juda hua hai... aap nashe se jude hue hain." (You are entirely covered in filth, You're addicted to drugs)," said Channi.

After the Assembly session attended, Sidhu told reporters that the Vidhan Sabha ruckus was deliberate as the Opposition is scared of the work being done by the Channi government and the Punjab Congress for the people. "Whatever announcement has been made recently is a vision for the next 5 years, not just 2-3 months," he told ANI.

During the assembly session, Sidhu also praised his bête noire and former CM Captain Amarinder Singh for terminating the water bills. Sidhu said due to the termination of water bills, not a single drop has been allowed to flow out of Punjab.
