While the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy assumed office on Saturday, June 8, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi praised him for his decision to make 5 deputy Chief Ministers. In a record move by the YS Jaganmohan Reddy-led state Cabinet, YSRCP MLA Mohammed Mustafa Shaik, on Friday had confirmed that the state will have five Deputy Chief Ministers.
Speaking to ANI on Saturday, the AIMIM chief said, "Its very good. Our democracy is a participatory form of democracy. The earlier administration in Andhra Pradesh was focussed on one caste. Now Jagan Mohan Reddy is giving chance to all the castes, class, minorities weaker sections. This is a good gesture, a positive message will go."
In a veiled reference to the Prime Minister, he added, "You cannot just say Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas, Jagan is doing real Sabka Saath. Now he has to do a lot of other things."
While speaking to ANI about the decision, YSRCP MLA said, "There will be five Deputy Chief Ministers in Andhra Pradesh cabinet. The Deputy Chief Ministers will be one each from Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Backward Castes, Minority, and Kapu community," Shaik said adding that Reddy will prove to be the best CM in India.
Earlier on Friday, Jaganmohan Reddy had called on a YSRCP legislative party meeting, which was attended by all the elected party MLAs at his camp office in Tadepalli, Amaravati. All the 150 MLAs of the YSRCP were present in the meeting.The YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was sworn-in as the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh at 12:23 PM on May 30 after sweeping the state with an overwhelming public mandate in the presence of over 40,000 supporters at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada.
On Congress MLAs joining the TRS in Telangana, Owaisi said that Congress party got what they have done, accusing teh Congress of buying AIMIM members during municipal elections. He also appealed to the Telangana speaker to give AIMIM the status of the Opposition party in the assembly citing that in Delhi the BJP also got the status despite only 3 MLAs.
On May 23, YSRCP decimated Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh in 2019 Lok Sabha polls and Assembly elections, by winning 151 seats out 175-seater AP assembly leaving on 23 seats for TDP and only 3 Lok Sabha seats.
