Hours after the crucial meeting between NCP patron Sharad Pawar and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, Sanjay Raut exuded confidence that Maharashtra would soon get a government led by Shiv Sena, amid the current political logjam in the state.

In response to Sharad Pawar's U-turn on an alliance with Shiv Sena, Raut said, "It will take births to understand Sharad Pawar." Allies NCP and Congress have been holding marathon meetings to mull over a probable alliance with the ideologically contrasting saffron party. However, when questioned over the same, Pawar on Monday gave an ambiguous response and appeared to be clueless over the "talks" with Shiv Sena.

In a conversation with the media at the national capital, Pawar claimed that BJP-Shiv Sena and NCP-Congress are separate and walk a different path. Moreover, when questioned on Shiv Sena's declaration of a government formation with the NCP, Pawar responded saying, "Really?" He said, "What talks? Talks regarding what? There are no talks now. BJP-Sena is separate, NCP-Congress is different. How can you say this? They have to pave their path, and we have to pave ours."

Sharad Pawar on Maharashtra govt

On Monday evening, Pawar held a press brief after his meeting with Sonia Gandhi in her New Delhi resident but gave no clear answer over the government formation in Maharashtra, which is currently under the President's rule. Denying the talks on the next government formation, Pawar said that his party only received 54 seats, then why should he talk about government formation. When asked about meeting Rajya Sabha MP and Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, Pawar laughed and said that he can meet Raut any day in the Parliament.

The Mahayuti alliance of BJP and Shiv Sena had a fallout post results over the 50:50 formula and rotational Chief Minister position. Subsequent to the falling of the saffron alliance, BJP, the single-largest party refused to form a government in the state. However, now, the BJP has vowed that it would form the next government, meanwhile, NCP-Congress-Shiv Sena is still exploring ways to form a government together in Maharashtra.
