Republic TV has the inside scoop of the meeting held by Mayawati on Sunday ahead of the bypolls in Uttar Pradesh.
During the meeting, sources say that she hit out at Samajwadi Party on the poll drubbing in the Lok Sabha elections. Angry at Samajwadi party chief Akhilesh Yadav, she has lashed out at him and called him anti-Muslim, the sources said.
As per sources, Mayawati is miffed at Akhilesh Yadav as after she announced that her party will contest the by-poll alone, he did not speak with her but asked SP leader Satish Chandra Mishra to communicate on his behalf.
She was also upset that Akhilesh did not give tickets to Muslims as it would lead to polarisation, the sources said. She also blamed her loss on the atrocities on Dalits during the Samajwadi Party's rule, the sources added.
The meeting that took place on Sunday ahead of the state bypolls. In the same meeting, she appointed her other brother Anand Kumar as the national vice president of the party. She also made her nephew Akash Anand as the party's national co-ordinator.
The BJP has questioned the decision of the Bahujan Samaj Party supremo calling the appointment of he relatives in the party as dynasty politics.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya compared the BSP with his party saying that booth workers in BJP can rise to head Union ministries and slammed Mayawati for giving her relatives who have no political experience top posts in the party.
During the Lok Sabha elections, the Samajwadi party bagged five seats losing some of its bastion like Kannauj in the Lok Sabha elections 2019, BSP got 10 seats improving its tally from 2014 when the party was completely whitewashed.
She herself did not contest the polls and was eyeing the Prime Ministerial post if the gathbandhan had won enough seats.
