In yet another attack on BJP, Shiv Sena's mouthpiece Saamna on Saturday again alleged BJP of horse-trading. It said that even after stating to the governor that they cannot form the govt, BJP is claiming that CM will be from their party. Saamna said that the reason why former CM Devendra Fadnavis has again resorted to 'it's our govt' is because the party is trying to horse trade even as President's rule has been imposed. Hinting on BJP, the Sena mouthpiece said that those having a mentality that they can rule the nation and Maharashtra with an iron fist should change it.

Sena to get CM post; BJP also confident of forming government

The former CM Devendra Fadnavis has told the BJP MLAs and cadres in a meeting on Friday that they will soon form government in the state. Similarly, NCP Chief Sharad Pawar stated that a Sena-NCP-Congress government will be formed which will run for 5 years while addressing reporters in Nagpur. Amid uncertainty over government formation, sources on Friday informed that the Sena-NCP-Congress alliance has decided on a formula, and has accepted Sena's demand for the CM post. Sources further reported that the cabinet will be split with Sena getting 16 portfolios, NCP -14 and Congress will get 12 berths. Sena and BJP's Maharashtra battle reached a national level as Sena's 18 Lok Sabha MPs too decided on Thursday to boycott the all MPs meeting on November 17 prior to the Winter session of the Parliament. On the other hand, Former CM Devendra Fadnavis has stated that 'Three parties can not run a government. There is no alternative to the BJP government,' hinting at re-elections. The draft CMP reportedly zeroed on the portfolios split, target issues. etc

President's rule in Maharashtra

The state of Maharashtra is under President's rule since Tuesday after governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari recommended the rule saying that no party can form a stable government. The stalemate in the state is a result of the fallout of the Mahayuti alliance partners- BJP and Shiv Sena over the post of Chief Minister in the state. In the assembly polls, the Mahayuti alliance partners won a total of 161 seats - BJP won 105 seats and Shiv Sena won 56 seats. The Mahagadhi made a comeback bagging 98 seats - (NCP 54 seats and Congress 44 seats.)
