In yet another case of politicians versus citizens, Maharashtra Congress MLA Nitesh Rane, son of Narayan Rane throws mud on highway engineer. The video accessed by Republic TV shows him and his followers dumping mud on highway engineer Prakash Shedekar. Nitesh Rane is a member of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly for the Kankavli constituency.
Sources have informed the Congress MLA's action came during an inspection of a highway along with the engineer. The inspection site as per reports is at the Mumbai-Goa highway at Kankavli. As the video proceeds, Rane can be seen threatening highway officer and pulling highway officer from his collar. As per reports, the reason for Narayan's son Nitesh and his supporters to do so is that the local administration was not repairing the potholes on the highway. This infuriated the Nitesh Rane and hence his supporters resorted to throwing mud on highway engineer and tightened him with rope. The MLA also hurled abuses on the govt official and tied him with a rope and threatened him.
Moreover, when Republic TV spoke to him on phone, he said that he is a government official and will do anything to safeguard the rights of people. Similar argument was given by BLP Indore MLA when he thrashed govt official with a bat.
The shocking visuals comes after the BJP MP Kailash Vijayvargiya's son Akash Vijayvargiya used a cricket bat to thrash civic officials in Madhya Pradesh's Indore. He had also alleged that his act was a result of the atrocities leashed by the civic department officials on a woman. Following the incident he was arrested by the Police. he was also caught on camera verbally abusing and thrashing the workers with a massive line of supporters behind him. In a festival of sorts, he was received by teh BJP workers and his family after he received bail. Moreover, he was remorseless and said that his stay in the jail was good and he can only pray that situations do not force him to behave in the same manner again.
Reacting to the entire incident his father who is a top BJP leader said that he cannot commented because he has no idea of the circumstances in which it happened. Another BJP leader Dilip Ghosh called him a 'shant ladka.' However, PM Modi lashed out at him in the parliamentary meeting with the party and said that those who cannot follow party discipline can leave the party.
