A Samajwadi Party MLA has targetted PM Narendra Modi in the case of deaths of over 170 children in Bihar due to encephalitis on Sunday.
The MLA Ravidas Mehrotra has attacked the Prime Minister saying that Centre has failed to prevent the deaths of children due to encephalitis in Bihar's Muzaffarpur. He added that this was because those who don't have children of their own are ruling in the Centre.
"The Centre has not done any probe in the case of children's deaths in Bihar. Because, those who are ruling in the Centre are childless themselves. Those who have children feel sad about the issue. The Centre has failed in preventing the deaths of children in the state," he said.
The death toll owing to the outbreak of encephalitis has gone up to 179 in the state. CM Nitish Kumar and state Health Minister Sushil Modi have evaded questions from the media on the grave situation.
The chief minister has slammed the media asking it to 'stay in limits' while the state Health Miniter asked reporters to 'leave the press conference if they want to ask about the death of the children. On Saturday, Union MoS fo Health Ashwani Kumar Choubey, who is from Bihar, gave the media a chase as he paced ahead of them replying to their questions with nothing but a 'sorry'.
From 'Litchi' to 'excessive heat', Bihar ministers have been giving bizarre excuses to the reason of the outbreak, even as no substantial solution can be seen., while Minister of Agriculture in the Government of Bihar Prem Kumar said that it is a conspiracy against 'litchi'.
