The gaali politics don't seem to end as Congress has now made a shocking insult at Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Parliament. Leader of Congress party in the Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury made an objectionable statement against PM Narendra Modi in the Parliament on Monday afternoon.
Chowdhury, while speaking in the Lok Sabha called Prime Minister Narendra Modi 'gandi naali' while saying how he cannot be compared to Indira Gandhi, The remark sparked an uproar in the Lower House.
While saying there's no comparison between Indira Gandhi and PM Modi, Chowdhury said, "Kahan Maa Ganga, Kahan Gandi Naali (one is Mother Ganges, other is a dirty drain).
He was speaking during the Motion of Thanks to the President in the Lok Sabha
His comments drew sharp condemnation from BJP members in the Parliament.
The Congress leader also went on to say "don't compare a monk and a monster".
He made the flippant remark even as he said Narendra Modi "deserves respect for becoming the prime minister twice".
He also spoke about his party's drubbing in the Lok Sabha elections where it managed to win only 52 seats.
"We lost because we were unable to sell our product, you were successful because you were successful in selling your product, irrespective of whether it is good or bad," he said.
He also asked PM Narendra Modi-led Centre about its credentials of anti-corrupt government.
"Did you manage to catch anybody in 2G and coal allocation scam? Did you manage to send Sonia Gandhi ji & Rahul Gandhi ji behind the bars? You came to power by calling them thieves, then how are they sitting in the parliament?"
