'TDP MPs joining BJP due to my fight for Andhra's rights,' says Chandrababu Naidu with a message for those writing off his party

TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday reacted on Twitter about four of his Rajya Sabha MPs resigning to join the BJP. The Rajya Sabha unit also passed a resolution to merge with the party leading the Centre.

TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday reacted on Twitter about four of his Rajya Sabha MPs resigning to join the BJP. The Rajya Sabha unit also passed a resolution to merge with the party leading the Centre.

Earlier on Thursday, the Rajya Sabha unit passed a resolution to merge the legislature party with the BJP.

Naidu, who has been on a vacation with his family in Europe tweeted saying that he had broken ties with BJP as the party-led government allegedly did not fullfil his special status demand for Andhra Pradesh. Maintaining that he had severed ties with BJP on principle, he said that the four MPs joining the BJP was not a setback. He added that the party members had nothing to worry as TDP had always returned to the fore despite being written off by many.

Four Rajya Sabha MPs belonging to TDP, including former Union minister, YS Sujana Chowdhary and TG Venkatesh, CM Ramesh and Garikapati  Mohan Rao, joined BJP in presence of Vice President Venkaih Naidu and BJP working president JP Nadda.
