A huge political slugfest broke out in the state of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday after the Governor, Satya Pal Malik decided to dissolve the assembly, quashing hopes of the newly-formed alliance of PDP, NC and Congress from forming the government.

In the wake of the recent political developments in the state, PDP's Mehbooba Mufti and NC's Omar Abdullah, enemy turned friends, indulged in a hilarious meme exchange, which has taken the internet by storm.

It all began after Mehbooba Mufti tweeted that she had sent her letter staking claim to form the government to the Governor through fax, but his office was unable to receive it. Following her post, Omar Abdullah tweeted a small video with a caption 'Raj Bhavan Jammu fax machine at work"

Mehbooba responded to his message, and continued the meme exchange with a hilarious post of her own. "Meanwhile those awaiting a response," she wrote on the social media website.

The formation of 'Kashmir Front' was confirmed on Wednesday after the three parties joined hands together and staked claim to come to power. Soon after this announcement, former CM Mehbooba Mufti faxed a letter to the Governor, seeking a chance to show their numbers. Simultaneously, Handwara MLA Sajad Lone, who was being backed by the BJP, did the same.

Rather than allowing either of the parties to prove their figures at the floor of the house, the Governor decided to dissolve the assembly. The decision irked the Kashmir Front, with former CMs Omar Abdullah and Mufti stating the decision was 'unconstitutional'.
