Taking a dig at Former MP of Amethi and Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi, Union Minister Smriti Irani in a rally in Amethi accused him of his disconnect with the people of Amethi during his tenure as the MP.
"There was a time in Amethi when people used to search for their MP, they used to go to Delhi," said Union Minister Smriti Irani
Attacking the Congress leader, she further said in her thank you speech that while people had to hunt in search of their former MP and had to travel to Delhi for addressing their grievances, their newly elected MP had come all the way to solve the issues of her constituency.
"I have already identified a place in Gauriganj where my home will be built. Tomorrow I will meet DM and SP so that people don't face any problem here. I will urge the district administration to solve problems of people within 7 days," said Union Minister Smriti Irani.
Thanking the people for their valuable votes she assures that she will work towards not only the well being of all those who voted for her but also those who did not vote for BJP and will make sure that no one in the district is deprived of any benefits.
"For the next five years, our government will work for 'sabka saath, sabka vikas and sabka vishwaas'. I am thankful to the state government for providing 8 new ambulances in Amethi. I am thankful to UP deputy CM Keshav Maurya for providing better roads to people in Gauriganj and Tiloi. 2,017 people in Amethi have been benefitted under the PM Awas Yojana" said Union Minister Smriti Irani.
Union minister Smriti Irani on Saturday reached Baraulia village in Amethi district to conduct a rally march following her victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections against Congress president Rahul Gandhi. During her 'thanksgiving' visit to her Parliamentary constituency, she also met the family of the village Pradhan and the family of late BJP worker and her close aide Surendra Singh who was killed on May 25.
