A day after Republic Media Network exposed Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy over his operations from a luxurious hotel since May 2018, a war of words has broken between BJP and JD(S) on social media.

Taking to Twitter on Friday morning, BJP Karnataka wrote that huge amount of Taxpayers money is being spent on "image make-over of Kumaraswamy", adding that amount of money spent on the Karnataka CM's village trip which includes his luxury food, stay, travel, cultural programs and advertisements could have been spent on the development of that village.

Responding to BJP's tweet, Kumaraswamy-led JD(S) took to Twitter and attacked state BJP chief BS Yeddyurappa, saying that "unlike Yeddyurappa, Kumaraswamy prefers to eat homemade food and not parcelled food from hotel". The tweet further reads that the Karnataka CM's 'Grama Vastavya' has helped a lot of villages.

This war of words has developed in the aftermath of Republic's sensational Sting which exposed how Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy has been living in Taj West End Hotel in Bengaluru over some time. After his swearing-in as the chief minister of Karnataka on 23 May 2018, Kumaraswamy had refused to take up residence in the government accommodation. However, the investigation revealed how that the CM has been living and working from the 5-star hotel.

However, on Thursday, the Chief Minister's office denied findings of the big exposure by Republic.
