Simultaneously to the confirmation, Gujarat BJP chief Jitu Vaghani had tweeted a congratulatory message to Amit Shah on being inducted into the cabinet.

The crucial development comes after Arun Jaitley who had served as the Finance Minister had decided to opt out of being entrusted with formal responsibilities in the next government, citing his health as being the reason for the decision.

PM Narendra Modi had met Jaitley at his residence on Wednesday to request him to change his mind, however, Jaitley decided remained firm with his decision.

A highest ever 8,000 guests, including VVIPs, attended the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his council of ministers on Thursday.
